Public Holidays
Public Holidays: Know the Celebrating Tradition, Rest, and Unity!
What Are Public Holidays?
I think of public holidays as special days we all get to take off work. Different countries call them different names - some say "bank holidays" or "statutory holidays." These are days when most of us don't have to work because the government says so.
From what I've noticed, these holidays usually celebrate important things like historical events, religious days, or cultural traditions. The holidays change depending on where you live. For example, in my country, we celebrate New Year's Day and Christmas, while other places might observe Eid al-Fitr or Diwali instead.
What I appreciate most about public holidays is that they give me time to rest, be with family, and think about what's important in our society. It's like pressing pause on regular life to celebrate something meaningful together.
